Dubstep and Drum ‘n’ Bass Overview

If you are wondering, what are the main music genres that hipsters like to listen nowadays, besides the regular clubbing, we can tell you that drum ‘n’ bass or dubstep are definitely two options. Drum and bass or D&B and dubstep are particularly appreciated in London pubs, due to the fact that part of their history is strongly connected to this beautiful city. Walking around the crowded streets in London, you might have noticed some huge advertising banners announcing a Bad Company UK shows in one of your favorite pubs next Saturday. So the question is: will you be there and are you into this software-based genre? Are you a part of the new generation or are you more of the classics who love to listen to the melodious ol’ guitar?

Drum and Bass for Grown-Ups.

We’ve all heard Drum and Bass before, haven’t we? And it will usually have been from the back of some souped-up hatchback with a pimply youth at the wheel… yawn.

But don’t just rule it out as far as ‘serious musical genres’ are concerned. You see, Downtempo Drum and Bass is actually really cool! It’s a whole lot more chilled than its parent genre and has a completely different feel to it altogether.

Please just make a point of listening to it at home… not when you are out and about in your ‘hot hatch’.

The “Why” Factor

One of my annual traditions has always been the T in the Park music festival, held in the Scottish Highlands, and usually featuring the best Scottish and international indie and rock music. In the past, the main stage has been headlined by genuine musical superstars like The Who and REM, as well as showcasing the best local talent. In fact, previously the only negative thing I had to say about T in the Park was the lack of choice in the beer tent; because the whole event is sponsored by Tennents lager, their weak-as-piss produce is all you can buy – after queueing for half an hour in the rain, of course. As rip-offs go, it’s up there with the Enigin scam.

The Future Sound of Music.

Getting that ‘lucky break’ in the music business has never been easy, but these days it is tougher than ever. Why? Well think about it; just about every possible style of music has already been covered! In fact, true originality is becoming more and more elusive on a weekly basis.

Of course, there are bound to be a few more fresh styles in the years ahead… although it is becoming increasingly tricky for today’s new artists to come up with anything that has not already been done before. And you only have to think about just how many different genres of music we now have at our disposal to see why this is so true…

Music from a cold climate

There’s a weird phenomenon that I noticed recently; singer/songwriters from Scotland and Canada sound strangely alike. Separated by thousands of miles and huge ocean, they have nevertheless developed a very similar sound. OK, in these days of the internet and online record sales that’s probably not as weird as I’m making it out to be, but why don’t musicians from Scotland sound like musicians from Australia or those from Canada sound like their American cousins in Mexico? My theory – and stay with me on this one – is that they have both developed their similar maudlin, slightly pessimistic style from living in cold countries.

New Markets and DIY for Real Musicians

The entire music industry is in the middle of a paradigm shift. Even five years ago, in order for a new bad to make it, they would look to being signed by a record label. The label would record and distribute and the band didn’t have to do much. The truth of the current situation is that the market share for cd sales is very low. Bands no longer make their money by selling their music so everybody needs to think of a new way of doing things.

A Complete Look at the Gilmore Girls

This show stories a day to day life associated with Rory Gilmore, the 16-year-old outcast, together with the girl’s 32-year-old mother Lorelai. The basis of the show is Lorelai bringing up the girl’s girl, who’s going to be exactly the same age she was when Lorelai became pregnant.

Lorelai has worked the girl’s way up to taking care of a nearby motel where Rory part-times after school and the two possess a relationship that’s more sister/sister than mother/daughter. ’Gilmore Girls'is undoubtedly an clever show from quick, humorous dialogue of which regularly refers to literature, music, movies, as well as pop culture.

Every actor or actress truly gets an opportunity to inhabit their own part for the reason that every persona, even a most peripheral, is characterized by a very distinctive personality rather than just an occupation. “Gilmore Girls” takes a distinctive, innovative, plus complex look at the relationship between the generations. From time to time one woman may step outside the girl’s part and become the Mother or perhaps Child to one of the others. I would recommend anybody on the lookout for brilliant, humorous television to watch this particular show which is filled with love. It is just a incredibly touhching show.

Even Anna (Sherilyn Fenn), April’s mom, strike common notes. THE protective mother, she was adamant Lorelai sustain apart from April till she as well as Luke experienced has been married in order to avoid April getting harmed. Lorelai do not like this–the connection appeared to be strong, she attempted to assure Anna–but she do have an understanding of. She would protect Rory with the girl’s individual several suitors just to exactly the very same exact reason.

Storyline of Gilmore Girls

Lorelai Gilmore, 32, has such a close connection together with the girl’s girl Rory that they’re frequently incorrectly recognized with regard to siblings. Between Lorelai’s connection from the girl’s parents, Rory’s new prep school, as well as both of their romantic entanglements, you will find an abundance of drama to go around….It show can be quite touching and just as delightful as rowan dartington services. I really hope everyone here can have a try.

Apple And Music publishers Looking To Ink Cloud Streaming Deal

Apple And Music publishers Looking To Ink Cloud Streaming Deal

According to a recent news report, there are big things on the horizon for iTunes users. Major music publishers and Apple have been in talks about streaming music through a new cloud service on iTunes.

Apple is quite close to acquiring all the licenses it needs to debut the cloud streaming service later this year. In fact, reports from technology sites such as CNet say that the service will be previewed at the Worldwide Developers Conference that takes place in the beginning of June.

According one technology writer, the talks between the two sides (Apple and music publishers) have progressed smoothly, and that only a small monetary amount is keeping them from signing the deal. Cloud licensing contracts are new, untested territory for both sides, which is why the negotiations have needed additional time.

A cloud-based streaming service lets users listen to their entire music collection anywhere in the world over the Internet. They will not need a special device, or need to sync a device to their primary device or machine that houses their complete music collection. What this will means is that while you do your shopping, research, or even look for GP Locum Jobs online you just have to click a link for your collection to start up no matter where in the world you are.

Apple has completed licensing deals with nearly all the major music publishing companies (including Sony, EMI and Warner). At this time, Universal Music Group is the only major publisher that hasn’t inked an agreement with Apple. </S

Metal and young people

Metal and young people

I have recently rediscovered my love of heavy metal. It’s amazing what a few beers; an iPod on some speakers and a great mate can do for you on a night in. There is so much great stuff from a bit of nice rock to full on thrash metal. One of my main rediscoveries was that of the band Deep Purple that my friend claimed to me was really musicians band and he’s very right to be honest. Deep purple seem to do little for the average Joe Bloggs on the street who happens to be going through a heavy metal phase but give to a musician and they get overly excited by the kind of stuff that Ritchie Blackmoore and Jon Lord came up with during their solos.

Inspiring young people with what we can consider to be amazingly produced music can be hard nowadays. I believe there should be more of a requirement in our UK teaching jobs to get kids to listen to the likes of classic rock stars to open up their minds to new and amazing talents that came before some of the tripe they listen to these days.

A good piece of music is something that stands the test of time. Justin Bieber or anyone on X Factor isn’t going to be around in ten years time but when passion ands talent have been put into creating something that will touch and inspire someone time and time again it becomes true genius. Lets bow down to the ability and talent of the rock star.

Image is everything

Image is everything

These days, making it in the music industry isn’t just about the songs you write or the way you sing. Record labels are just as interested in what you look like and what you wear! Look at two of the biggest female solo artists around at the moment, Jessie J and Florence and the Machine. I doubt either of them would have been so successful if they hadn’t cultivated the right image. Jessie J has actually been making music for six years, but has only recently tasted success after developing her current hard and edgy persona, while Florence Welch’s brand of whimsical pop only works because she happens to look like the heroine from a John Waterhouse painting!
So how do you know what record company executives want to see? The first thing is to make sure that your image matches your music. It’s no use impressing A&R guys with your swaggering hip hop demo and then turning up to the meeting dressed like a boho hippie. Originality is another key ingredient. It’s hard enough to make it in the music business without being compared to other artists; don’t make it more difficult by copying someone else’s style. These days it’s actually very hard to come up with a truly original look. If you try and develop a completely new look, teaming up bold, clashing colours or even creating your own clothes, then everyone will immediately assume you’re trying to look like Lady Gaga. And let’s face it; there’s only one person in the whole whole world who could pull off a dress made of meat…
